This is based as closely as I could make it on a home built in 1927 then remodeled in 1980's. It is a basic mid-Atlantic '4 by' style, four rooms up, four down. Rooms were 15 foot square with 12 foot ceilings downstairs and 10 foot ceilings upstairs. Ceilings were lowered to hide plumbing and heat ducts in modernizing. 2 rooms were narowed to become 12x15 and a hall way and bathrooms were added. Attic storage room was converted to a game room. The odd little fence around the porch roof is put on many local homes of that style by a builder as a safety precaution, to keep children/teens climbing out on the slick metal roof trying to sneak out from falling. The little fence made a handy spot to tie down and mount seasonal decorations. Inside looks nicer if you dress it up in better wall papers it really is, mostly plain painted walls and bare wood floors.
